Fue parte esencial del Renacimiento y le dió mayor importancia a la razón y al hombre. Es antropocéntrico.
It was an essential part of the Renaissance and gave greater importance to reason and man. It is anthropocentric.

2. ¿Dónde comienza y cuáles son los escritores destacados?
2. Where it start and who are the featured writers?
Comienza en Italia y entre sus escritores estaban Dante Alighieri, Giovanni Boccaccio y Francesco Petrarca.
It begins in Italy and among its writers were Dante Alighieri, Giovanni Boccaccio and Francesco Petrarca.

3. ¿A qué se refiere con la ruptura del humanismo?
3. What it is meaning by the rupture of humanism?
Consistió en que la historia se separó de la teología rechazaron tomar la Biblia para determinar los períodos históricos.
It consisted that historians began to separate history from theology and rejected to take the Bible to determine the historical periods.

4. Maquiavelo escribió el Príncipe  que es un tratado de teoría política sobre la forma que el gobernante se debe comportar ante sus súbditos.
4. Machiavelli wrote the Prince which is a treatise on political theory on how the ruler should behave before his subjects.

Explain the following extract from that treaty:

Hay tres clases de intelecto: el primero discierne por sí, el segundo entiende lo que otros disciernen, y el tercero no discierne ni entiende lo que otros disciernen. El primero es excelente, el segundo es bueno y el tercero es inútil. 
There are three kinds of intellect: the first discerns itself, the second understands what others discern, and the third does not discern or understand what others discern. The first is excellent, the second is good and the third is useless.
