Durante el siglo XVIII, muchos pensadores franceses comenzaron a cuestionar al modelo político francés. Plantearon una serie de críticas al modelo absolutista, y proponen en sus escritos modelos políticos ideales.
During the eighteenth century, many French thinkers began to question the French political model. They raised a series of criticisms of the absolutist model, and proposed in their writings ideal political models.

1. Voltaire: Planteó la necesidad de que existiera libertad de pensamiento y de la prohibición de las detenciones arbitrarias. Consideraba que el Estado velara por la educación.
Voltaire: He raised the need for freedom of thought and for the prohibition of arbitrary detention. He considered that the State should ensure education.

2. Montesquieu: En su obra “El Espíritu de las Leyes” se plantea la necesidad de separación de los poderes del estado.
Montesquieu: In his work "The Spirit of Laws" arises the necessity of separation of the powers of the state.

3. Rousseau: La soberanía radica en la voluntad general del pueblo que delega mediante un contrato esa soberanía y sus derechos en un gobierno.

Rousseau: Sovereignty lies in the general will of the people who delegates by contract a sovereignty and their rights in a government.
